Dr. McColl stooped at his workbench,
Trembling hands clutching his tools.
Racing the clock to finish his masterpiece.
Soon, her heart will beat again.

Quickly he worked to finish his project:
A clockwork machine the shape of a girl.
The oncoming storm would rouse his creation,
And ignite his heart once again.

She was his bride who was taken to early.
She, who could chase the dark clouds away.
Death, it had come in the form of consumption,
Wrenching her life force away.

Oh, Adelia!
I'll bring you home!

Quickly he gave the finishing touches,
While outside the rain started to fall.
Watching the gauges, he grabbed the electrodes;
His moment of truth come to call.

The wind lashed out as lighting erupted!
To the console he fled, not a moment to spare!
He muttered a prayer as he pulled down a lever.
Soon, his new wife would be here!

Oh, Adelia!
You're coming home!

Deep in the basement, batteries humming.
Lightning collected is sent down below.
Energy levels slowly are rising,
to power to her starts to flow!

Suddenly, sparks shoot out from the console!
The power of Earth shall not be contained!
He lets out a yelp as a blinding explosion
reduces his opus to flames!

Oh, Adelia!
Oh, take me home!

Dr. McColl weeps at his workbench;
A smouldering heap is all that remains.
The storm, it has gone, but so has his passion.
Only exhaustion remains!

Since she had gone, all of his energy
poured into grasping for what he had lost.
And now, once again, his bride had been taken.
All of his work, at what cost?

Oh, Adelia!
